BioI'm a novelist. So far I've published seven books, as follows: a TV tie-in to the show Forever Knight titled These Our Revels on which I collaborated with another writer under the pseudonym Anne Hathaway-Naye; three magic-historical-medieval romances under my almost-real name, Jayel Wylie for Pocket Books/Simon & Schuster (A Falcon's Heart; This Dangerous Magic; and Wicked Charms); and three medieval vampire romances for the same publisher under the pseudonym Lucy Blue (My Demon's Kiss; The Devil's Knight; and Dark Angel). My publisher dumped me last year, and I'm working on something contemporary and smutty at the moment in hopes of finding another one.
I'm single, and I kinda hate it. I live by myself with a cat, and I'm starting to panic a little bit. My apartment is falling down around me, a duplex that's just oozing Southern gothic charm as it disintegrates into dust. I have two married sisters who are just the berries, and I love both of their husbands. One of them has a baby daughter who is God's most perfect human creation so far. I've had the same best friend since I was twelve years old, more than thirty years. I also have another darling pal I adore who lives on the other side of the country with her husband and her six-year-old son - God's second most perfect human creation so far. My parents are both still alive, for which I feel profoundly grateful - they are smart and kind and have nurtured me and my sisters so well, we're well nigh unbearable.
I f*cking hate my day job, and I'm actively looking for another one.
I'm a Christian, but I don't believe in denominational religion as it is currently practiced - I think we started screwing up ten minutes after Pentecost and haven't gotten much right since. But I am definitely a believer in Jesus - and marriage for anybody brave enough to want it, and every individual's choice over their own bodies, and inclusion over exclusion in pretty much everything.
Mostly, I'd say I'm happy and have a pretty fabulous life.
